Reusable Clean Air Suits

Reusable Clean Air suits for the Operating Room

Lojigma Clean Air suits are clinically proven and meet the performance requirements of European Standard EN 13795.

Reusable Clean Air Suits: are used in the operating room to minimise the transfer of micro-organisms on air borne particles (mostly skin particles) transferred from the surgical team to the open wound of a patient on the operating table. The Lojigma design of Clean Air Suit has been clinically proven in orthopaedic surgical procedures to contain (inside the suit) particles disseminated from the skin of the surgical team. Thereby, this reduces the number of particles in the operating room air which subsequently minimises microbial particulate contamination of the open wound.

Clean air suits, made from RANSAL® antistatic fabric, have a smart appearance, are comfortable to wear and offer a barrier to particles carrying bacteria thereby meeting the performance requirements of EN 13795 – 3. They are a non sterile item worn by all staff in the operating room including the surgical team who would also wear sterile surgical gowns over the clean air suit.

Infection from the operating room comes from many sources - by controlling each of these sources of infection the overall risk of a wound infection occurring can be minimised. Using Clean Air suits addresses the source of infection from naturally occurring bacteria on the skin and underclothing of the operating room staff.

Manufacturers Responsibilities for Compliance to EN13795

To comply with the requirements of EN 13795, the Manufacturers Responsibilities (laundry/ sterilisation companies) must set up validation and monitoring procedures to ensure that all products delivered to the operating room meet the minimum performance requirements of EN 13795-3.
